Threads ads, added to campaigns that already work
Threads is the newest place Meta shows ads. We add it where it makes sense, beside your Instagram ads, and we tell you plainly what it can and cannot do yet.
Threads ads management
Can a small business run ads on Threads?
Yes, a small business can run ads on Threads, as a placement inside a Meta campaign rather than a separate system. Optimus Business Solutions in Salem, New Hampshire adds Threads to the campaigns we already run for you in Meta's ad tools, alongside Instagram, which Meta requires. The ads are images, videos or carousels that sit between posts in the Threads home feed on phones. Meta says it is keeping Threads ads few while it tests, so we treat Threads as an extra, never the center of the plan.

Who is on Threads
Who is reading Threads
Threads is a text-first app built around conversation. People open it to read and reply, so a plain, useful thought from a business owner can travel. For a trade that means talking like a person: what to check before winter, or why a cheap fix can cost more later. Many people there already use Instagram, and Threads reaches them in a quieter, chattier setting.
- Instagram users who also read Threads
- People who follow talk about homes, repairs and local news
- Readers in your service area, on their phones

How Threads ads are built and where they land
Threads ads run inside the same campaign as your Instagram ads, using images, video or carousels. There is no button on a Threads ad yet: a tap on the picture or the headline takes people to the destination, usually a page on your website. We can also promote one of your existing Facebook or Instagram posts there.
- Image, video and carousel ads in the Threads home feed
- Run together with Instagram placements in one campaign
- A tap on the picture or headline opens your website

Before the ads
Why your Threads profile should be active before ads
Ads supercharge an organic engine that already runs; they never come first. On Threads, someone who likes your ad can tap your name and land on your profile. If they find real replies and useful posts, they follow. If it is empty, they move on. Because Threads ads ride with Instagram, your Instagram has to be in shape too, along with the website the ad sends people to.
- A Threads profile with fresh posts every week
- An Instagram account set up and cleared to run ads
- A website page that answers the question the ad raises
Every month
Honest reporting on a brand new placement
Threads results show up as their own placement line in the same Meta reports as Instagram and Facebook. Each month we tell you whether Threads earned its place in the mix or whether the money is better spent on the other two apps. You hold the payment method and the access, and Threads can be switched off without touching the rest.
- Threads shown as its own line in your Meta reporting
- A plain call each month: keep it, change it or drop it
- Spend and access stay in your account, under your control

Where this connects
Every part of the system talks to the others: the posts, the professional platforms and the website.
Questions owners ask
Threads: straight answers
Do I need a Threads profile to advertise there?
Meta lets a business run Threads ads through its Instagram account or Facebook Page even without one. We still recommend a real Threads profile, because people who like an ad tap your name, and a profile with recent posts gives them something to read and follow.
Can my existing Threads posts be turned into ads?
Not at this time. Meta does not let organic Threads posts be promoted. What it does allow is taking an existing Facebook or Instagram post with an image, video or carousel and running it in the Threads feed, so a job that went over well on Instagram can show up on Threads too.
Can I collect leads with a form on Threads?
Meta's own pages list Threads for campaigns aimed at awareness, traffic, engagement and sales, and lead form campaigns are not on that list. So when a form is the goal, we run it on Facebook and Instagram, and we use Threads to send people to your website.
Why are there so few ads on Threads?
Meta has said it is keeping the volume of ads on Threads low on purpose while it tests and learns, and some ad features are not open to every account yet. That means fewer ads compete for attention there, and also that Threads delivers only a small slice of a campaign.
Will Threads ads run on desktop?
No. Meta delivers Threads ads on mobile only, in the home feed. Sound on video ads starts off until the person taps for it, so we make videos that read clearly on mute, with captions and a picture that tells the story on its own.
